Angie adopted a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle after attending the 2016 Food Is Medicine Seminar. The scientific evidence which supported the positive health effects through plant-based nutrition was compelling. Angie joined the Healthy City Board to be an advocate of the plant-based lifestyle from within the hospital where she previously worked, as well as in her community. She is now employed by the University of Texas Permian Basin College of Nursing and is awaiting for her request to be accepted to serve on a task force that reviews food choices for the UTPB Dining Hall.
Her favorite plant-based meal is bourbon vegetables.
Angie and her husband, Tim, have been married for 26 years. They have 14 dogs, 5 horses and 2 longhorns.
