Danielle Johnson

Board Member

Danielle adopted a plant-based lifestyle in January 2016 as a proactive measure to prevent high blood pressure, high cholesterol and breast cancer which run in her family. At the time, she was working for Midland Health and was introduced to plant-based nutrition by a few local physicians. As Public Relations and Marketing Specialist for Midland Health, she was involved in the implementation of innovative community health projects including the Midland Wellness Tour, BetterU wellness portal, and the Midland Health Community Garden.

Danielle is one of the founding board members of Healthy City and coordinated the first-ever Food Is Medicine seminar, which is now an annual event. She recently has since moved to Dallas, but continues to serve as a board member, Food Is Medicine subcommittee member, and our website editor. In her free time, Danielle loves baking, gardening, and traveling with her husband. Her favorite plant-based dessert is Dreena Burton’s sweet potato chocolate cake.
